Best Price Memory Foam Mattress Reviewed

If you’re looking for a new mattress you probably want to get the best quality at the lowest price, right?

On my website you’ve seen that I’ve reviewed not just the luxury brands but also the more affordable brands too.

Comfort is such a subjective thing that a budget matress for one person may be substantially more comfortable than a high end luxury mattress of the same type.

This review is based around one of the highest rated, but most affordable mattresses on the market today.

Interestingly the brand is actually called the “Best Price Mattress“.

(I’m sure that helps their company stand out search rankings!)

Anyway, this particular memory foam mattress comes in the standard depths e.g. 6 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch and 12 inch.

It also comes in the main sizes e.g. twin, full, queen and king.

One thing you may notice with this review is that the mattress doesn’t claim to have the same benefits and cool-sounding technology of a more premium brand, but the customer reviews are overwhelmingly positive. So it proves you don’t need to have fancy sounding benefits to provide a product that actually does what people want.

So here we go…

Construction And Composition

For such a low priced mattress, this is an extremely well constructed product and the manufacturer has clearly not compromised on quality despite the low price.

With the 10 inch model the mattress is broken down into three layers.

The top layer consists of 3″ of memory foam which is infused with charcoal. The charcoal may seem like a strange addition to a mattress but charcoal is great at absorbing bad odours.

The second layer consists of 2″ of super soft pressure relief foam. This layer is what helps to provide the extreme comfort and support at the same time, allowing your mattress to naturally fit the contours of your body while making sure all of the joints and pressure points have the support they need.

The bottom layer is 5″ of high density foam which helps support the top layers.

All of these separate layers have a unique function and combined together they will provide a high level of comfort coupled with appropriate support where you need it, meaning you’ll wake up without those aches and pains in your joint or spine.

The memory foam used features a responsive active suspension that helps to isolate and reduce transfer motion. This means you can easily move around on the mattress without disturbing your partner.

(You may have seen these kinds of examples on the commercials where they put a glass of red wine on one corner of the bed and drop a bowling ball on the opposite corner – the mattress absorbs the energy/movement of the bowling ball leaving the red wine undisturbed.)

If you’re not someone who routinely plays bowling in your bedroom while drinking wine, the main benefit of this is that you’ll feel your weight distributed evenly over the mattress as it relieves pressure on all the major pressure points.

And if you do happen to spill any red wine on it, the zipped Poly-Jacquard fabric cover is easily removeable for cleaning.

One main difference with other more expensive brands is that the contruction of this mattress doesn’t provide any natural cooling system. If you’ve never used a memory foam mattress before you may find that you sleep a little warmer than usual because the mattress will mould to you using your body heat.

In reality it’s only a minor issue and one that is easily resolved. In this case you can keep a little cooler by using cotton rather than flanel sheets, or using less blankets.

Other Features

The mattress is also CertiPUR-US Certified and comes with a 10 year manufacturers warranty. This is true for all mattress sizes of this brand.

The main difference between the different thickness sizes is that the thinner models will have the same layers, but just in a thinner amount.

For example, where the 10 inch model would have 3″ of memory foam, the 6 inch model would have 1″ of memory foam, the 8 inch model would have 2″ of memory foam etc.

Physical Information

The 10 inch model weighs just over 66 pounds and when delivered it will be rolled up and vacuum packed.

It’s relatively easy to transport but be careful lifting. The density of the foam means it looks lighter than it actually is. If in doubt, have someone to help you lift it to your room.

Once you cut away the plastic wrapping, unroll the mattress and it will slowly expand to it’s normal size over the course of a couple of hours.

For best results, you should open a window and allow the off-gassing to occur when you’re not in the room. If the mattress is delivered later on in the day, it may be best to let it expand and off-gas in a separate room overnight as many people find the initial smell off putting.

This is true of almost any memory foam mattress though since the initial smell goes away relatively quickly and is a small price to pay for the years of peaceful nights the new mattress will provide.
